Here it is September....and the last full week of September in fact! As the leaves begin to put on their colors before winter, September can be the perfect time to set a goal or intention to be healthier.
I often chuckle to myself when people try to set "new year resolutions" in January. To me, it seems like such a set-up for struggle. Who wants to go outdoors for a walk or run when there is very little daylight, the days are cold, and the roads and sidewalks are icy?? Let's face it.....the dead of winter is hardly the time when our bodies want to try something new. We are much more likely to continue to exercise and move if we have a habit going before winter begins. Why not start an outdoor activity now, when cool crisp days with lots of sun are available and the farmers markets are still open and selling the last goodies of summer?? There's still time to strike a yoga pose or 2 on your deck or porch!!
September is a beautiful month in MN.....get out and enjoy the spectacular show that mother nature provides and boost your mood and heart rate all at the same time! Be well!
