"A single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives."
Henry David Thoreau
When we practice yoga, we don't go to a single class or do a few poses and then assume we are done. Instead, we return to the mat day after day...hopefully wearing a path into our lives that creates not just physical changes, but emotional, mental, and spriritual ones as well.
I am also a big believer in changing our thinking as a way to change our emotions and ways of seeing the world. Notice what you think about. What do you tell yourself? Are you constantly finding fault with yourself, with others, or the world? If you find yourself engaged in negative thoughts....try replacing them with something more positive. The more that you do so, the more that you create a "path" in the mind that is more hopeful, optimistic, and grateful.
